Boston in the USA is seen from Landsat.
Boston was founded in 1630 and it has with its relatively
short distance to Europe functioned as gateway during colonial
times. The town has witnessed many historical events during the
civil war including the Boston Tea Party in 1773. See more at

area of 232 km2 and a large part is located on dried land.
Boston has around 600.000 inhabitants, hence is on of the most
densely populated towns in the USA. Including the suburbs seen
in the satellite image there are around 4.500.000 people in
Greater Boston. The Landsat satellite image is from the 27th
September 2000 and it shows Boston and the surrounding land and
water. Note the Logan International Airport that is located near
the harbor on the dried land within the harbor area.
